Position
Summary |
|
The Production
Manager will be responsible for the safe, reliable and
efficient operation of the power plant which include HRSGs,
gas and steam turbines, generators, associated auxiliary
equipment and substations, in accordance with SAOM policies,
the PPA or as directed by the Plant General Manager.
The Production Manager will be responsible for coordinating
and communicating with other departments and external
organizations such as TRANSCO and shared facilities
personnel to analyze and resolve the most complex problems.
The Production Manager will be responsible for the overall
process including budgeting, long range planning and
forecasting. |

Duties &
Responsibilities |
|
The duties and
responsibilities of Production Manager include but are not
limited to the following:
1 |
Lead
the Production Department in the operation of the
plant and direct them in support of the Plant
General Manager’s requirements. |
2 |
Lead
the Production Department in the startup and system
checkout for S3 during construction. |
3 |
Direct
the preparation and content of safe working
procedures, including equipment lockout/tag out
procedures and coordination with the Safety Manager. |
4 |
Leading the Production Department in order to meet
S3 production goals. |
5 |
Responsible for establishing and maintaining
standard and emergency operating procedures for all
plant equipment, using accepted power plant industry
standards. |
6 |
Ensure
that all personnel in the Production Department
operate S3 equipment in a safe, professional manner,
in accordance with industry standards, environmental
restrictions, original equipment manufacturers’
recommendations, S3 Standard Operating Procedures,
and the PPA. |
7 |
Coordinate the procurement of fuel oil with
Purchasing, to ensure plant availability, without
compromising plant availability and reliability. |
8 |
Ensure
that all personnel in the Production Department
operate equipment in a manner which will achieve the
optimum thermal efficiency without compromising
safety, plant availability and reliability. |
9 |
Supervise
overall plant operations including emergency
situations. |
10 |
Analyze plant operating problems and coordinate
solutions with the Engineering and Technical
Departments to safely restore plant to normal
operation. |
11 |
Report
immediately to the Plant General Manager or their
delegate whenever:
a. an accident
occurs involving serious injury to personnel.
b. a plant
upset occurs which would result in an extended loss
of plant or equipment availability.
c. it is necessary
to take disciplinary action. |

Ensure
that operators adhere to housekeeping policies. |
13 |
Maintain daily, weekly and monthly reports as
required. |
14 |
Evaluate the performance of subordinates. |
15 |
Responsible for the training of production personnel
and coordinating with the HR / Training Department
|
16 |
Authorizes work as necessary to ensure that the
plant is adequately staffed within the organization
set up to provide a safe and reliable operation. |
17 |
Manages the consumption of consumable materials for
the Production Department. |
18 |
Responsible to manage the Department budget |

Education,
Experience & General Requirements |
1 |
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or
Electrical engineering. |
2 |
Minimum of ten years’ experience in power plant operation,
of which five years must have been in a supervisory capacity. |
3 |
Excellent English verbal and written communication
skills. |
4 |
Excellent computer skills including working
knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project,
MP2 and PowerPoint. |
5 |
Strong
leadership skills are essential. |
6 |
Ability to take direction and responsibility. |
7 |
Demonstrated ability to analyze a problem and pursue
it to a successful conclusion. |
